Advent is the beginning of the church year and a sacred season of waiting, hope, and preparation. In the Lutheran Church, Advent begins four Sundays before Christmas and invites us to slow down, reflect, and open our hearts to the coming of Christ.
Each week, we light a new candle on the Advent wreath signs of hope, peace, joy, and love, reminding us that even in times of darkness, God’s light is drawing near. Through scripture, prayer, and song, we prepare not only to celebrate Christ’s birth but also to welcome Christ’s presence among us today.
At Klamath Lutheran, we continue our fellowship after worship each Sunday in Advent with simple soup lunch, a time to share warmth, conversation, and community as we journey together toward Christmas.
